Hurricane Isaac

Rick and I both grew up inFlorida. We both respect the power of nature and understand how deadly ahurricane can be but at the same time we understand the hype the media putsinto a hurricane and we have often watched hurricanes blow right past our cornerof Florida.

We spent the weekend makingsure we had water, food, gas and propane. We did not put up our shutters. We donot get to worked up unless it is going to be at least a category three. We waitedin anticipation for the school district to announce if we would have school. Wewaited like we have waited many times before.

Yesterday like a true Floridianwe went out to lunch at a place where you eat outside under a tiki hut so wecould watch the storm begin to blow in after lunch we continued our hurricaneparty at home. We ate dinner, watched movies and watched the rain and windoutside.

Last night we slept with thesound of rain and wind and was thankful that we did not have school the nextday but even more thankful that our part of world had been spared by anotherhurricane. Today we will enjoy our day off and say a prayer for all of theothers in Hurricane Isaac’s path.
