Getting Ready for Vacation

We will be on our way to our first summer getaway very soon. All four of us are heading to New York City for a few days. Rick and I have gone to NY City a few times but this will be the first time that we will bring Devon and Nara. I think it will be a fun adventure. I will post pictures when we return

Piano Recital

Tomorrow is a very big day. Nara has her first Piano Recital. Today we went to the rehearsal. She did not appear nervous. She went up on stage and just started playing. I was really proud we are all looking forward to seeing her perform tomorrow night.

Update

It has been a long time since I posted anything. It has been a very busy month. Nara participated in spring cheerleading and she is preparing for her piano recital. Rick completed his written and oral comprehensive exams from the University of Florida. Rick and I just returned from Gainesville today. Devon has had his own excitement with completing his freshman year in high school. A few weeks ago Rick and I traveled over to Miami to update our fingerprints. I always feel closer to Caroline when I do something related to her adoption.

China News

Rick and I have received our appointment to go to Miami to have our fingerprints updated with homeland security. This is our third update. Our fingerprints have to be updated every year until we bring Caroline home. We are going next weekend. We always try to make the most of it and turn it into a mini vacation.

Devon will be 16 in September. Homeland security requires anybody in the house 18 or over to have fingerprints done. I wonder if we will still be waiting two years from now. Will we have to start bringing Devon with us?

Summer cannot come soon enough

We long for summer but we must first finish the school year. Rick is busy working on his last papers for his UF program and Nara and Devon are trying to complete the school year. We are about five weeks away from summer vacation.
