Grandparent's Day
Caroline and Mammy having fun.
A few weeks ago Caroline’s school had a Grandparent's Day Celebration. It was a big day in our house. My mother was excited and so was Caroline. My mom got up early and drove from her house to the school to meet Caroline for Mass, Brunch and then followed up with a classroom visit and activity. Caroline was thrilled to introduce her Mammie to her class and I think my mom had a good time too.

The Nutcracker Goes Pop
Caroline has always had a side of dramatics so this Fall I decided to enroll her in the local acting/drama program. My niece and nephew have been a part of the program for years. To tell you the truth I have been looking forward to her involvement for a long time. The youngest class is for four and five year olds but the teacher agreed to let my spunky three year old in the class.
The entire semester is a build up to being a bunny in the Nutcracker Goes Pop. At the first dress rehearsal she sat down and refused to move but in true Caroline fashion when she hit the stage for the first time she bounced like a bunny and in the end she bowed like a big girl.
The program was time demanding with three performance. My family and Rick’s family all came out to support. In the end it was a great experience and looking forward to classes starting back in January

School Christmas Concert
Caroline had her first Christmas concert tonight. Her class sang Jingle Bells and played the bells. She did well and enjoyed it. As always we were proud.

Breakfast
Breakfast is such a big issue at my house or I should say it ends up being a big issue. Caroline and I leave the house early in the morning so breakfast is the last thing either of us wants to think about in the morning. Nara and Rick leave a little latter but they are usually hurrying out the door.
I have started making muffins with fruit and nuts but I am always looking for something new. Today I was reading several blogs and found a receipt for No Bake Energy Bites. http://www.gimmesomeoven.com/no-bake-energy-bites/ I am going to the store later and give these a try.

Universal: Halloween Horror
We got back from Universal’s Halloween Horror earlier today.
It was a quick 24 hour trip.
In August we promised Nara that if she received all A’s and
B’s that we would take her to Halloween Horror. Rick and I have been several
times over the years and have really enjoyed a quick getaway in October. Nara
has always wanted to go. She is almost 14 so we thought she would be old enough
to attend. It became clear on Thursday that she was going to get all A’s and B’s
(including Algebra).
Rick and I are really not into haunted houses so we always
just walk around and enjoy getting a little scared and enjoy people watching. I
am glad to be home and wish I had another weekend to recover before heading
back to work tomorrow. I will post photos later.

Look Who is Coming Home
My beautiful niece Emma is coming home. Emma is a freshman at Ole Miss. I have not seen her since she left for college in August. She will only be home for the weekend but it will be so nice to see her. Caroline often tells people that Emma is at college. She is thrilled that she gets to spend time with her this weekend.
Halloween Horror at Universal
We gave Nara the challenge of getting all A’s and B’s this quarter. As an 8th grader she is taking two high school classes so her grades are very important. We told her that if she got all A’s and B’s that we would take her to Halloween Horror at Universal. As of today it looks like she is going to pull it off and that we are going to be spending sometime celebrating ghosts and gobbling’s and good grades.

Sports Day at School
Caroline was able to shed her normal uniform at her Catholic School and enjoy wearing normal clothes. The school celebrated sports day at school all students were asked to bring a dollar and wear a sports shirt. We are big University of Miami fans and Miami Dolphin Fans so Caroline wanted to wear her Hurricane Jersey.

Old Photo Day
Where did time go? She was 5 and loved Spider Man. Now she is 13 and stayed up to 130 last night doing home work. I guess she is a big girl now.
